About me
Hello, I’m José Carrillo. My work combines web development and design, aiming to make user-friendly and good-looking digital products.
Yes I can do both develop and design. I have led designers, and worked as a Senior Front-End Developer in an agile environment. I understand JavaScript and the front-end landscape as well as how to design with tools like Figma. I have created a UI component library as well as work with designers to create a design system.
I’ve spent years learning and working with JavaScript tools like NodeJS, Angular, React, and StencilJS, which help me build websites and applications from the ground up.
I see design and development as connected. I strive to make things that not only work well but also feel intuitive and welcoming to those who use them. By focusing on the user’s needs and how they interact with technology, I aim to simplify complex ideas into something accessible and enjoyable.
In essence, I’m all about creating digital products that matter to people. I’m always ready to learn more and take on new challenges that push the boundaries of what’s possible in web development and design. At the time I am learning Golang with PostgreSQL and a React frontend to build an analytics application for small but scrappy UX teams.
I have working experience and have built products with:
JavaScript, NodeJS, Typescript, Angular, React, RxJS, StencilJS, HTML5/ HTML, CSS/CSS3, SASS, Grunt, Webpack, Git, ExpressJS, Git, MongoDB, SQL, RESTful APIs, Karma, Jest (Learning Golang & PostgreSQL)
Design:
Figma, Sketch, Design Systems, Personas, Component Libraries
